Your Role as a Level 4 Early Years Educator Apprentice
As a Level 4 apprentice, you will take on increased responsibility within the setting while developing leadership and mentoring skills. Working closely with senior practitioners, your role will include:
Planning, leading, and evaluating high-quality learning experiences in line with the EYFS
Supporting and mentoring junior staff or Level 2/3 apprentices, where appropriate
Acting as a key person for a group of children, including observations, assessments, and next steps
Contributing to learning journals and monitoring children’s progress and development
Supporting inclusive practice and adapting provision to meet individual learning needs
Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
Ensuring safeguarding, health, and safety procedures are followed at all times
Building strong professional relationships with children, families, and colleagues
Supporting daily routines, transitions, and the effective running of the nursery
You will be encouraged to reflect on practice, share ideas, and contribute to continuous improvement across the setting.
Training and Qualification Details
Your apprenticeship training will be delivered by Professional Training Solutions and includes:
A fully funded Level 4 Early Years Educator qualification
A blended learning approach, combining workplace learning, online study, and regular tutor support
Access to experienced mentors, coaches, and assessors
Work-based projects focused on leadership, reflective practice, and quality improvement
Assessments that align with your role and responsibilities within the nursery
