About the Opportunity
Professional Training Solutions is working in partnership with Ladybird Nurseries, a warm and welcoming early years provider based in southeast London (SE20), to recruit a dedicated apprentice for their Level 3 Early Years Educator programme.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for working with young children to earn, learn, and grow in a professional nursery setting. As part of this apprenticeship, you’ll gain hands-on experience in early years care while completing a nationally recognised qualification.
About Ladybird Nurseries
Set within a residential area near Penge and Anerley, Ladybird Nurseries is part of a small, supportive group of nurseries that provide care and education to children aged 0–5 years. The setting offers a nurturing environment with a strong emphasis on structured routines, play-based learning, and positive relationships with families.
Role and Responsibilities
As an Early Years Apprentice, you will work closely with experienced nursery staff to:
- Support children as they settle into nursery life, helping them feel safe, confident, and cared for.
- Assist with structured play activities and learning opportunities tailored to each age group.
- Promote children’s emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
- Help maintain a safe and clean environment, following health and safety and safeguarding procedures at all times.
- Contribute to the completion of child development profiles and observations.
- Assist with daily routines including snack times, toileting, and transitions between activities.
- Communicate effectively with families and colleagues to support each child’s individual needs.
- Training and Support
This apprenticeship is delivered by Professional Training Solutions and includes:
- A fully funded Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification.
- Blended learning: combining on-the-job training, online coursework, and regular tutor visits.
- Ongoing support from a dedicated training advisor and nursery mentor.
- Functional Skills in English and Maths if not already achieved at Level 2.
Candidate Requirements
We are looking for someone who is:
- Enthusiastic about working with children and ready to make a difference.
- A team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Organised, reliable, and willing to learn.
- Ideally holds a Level 2 childcare qualification (but this is not essential).
- Committed to completing the full duration of the apprenticeship.

- Key Person roles
- Room Leader support
